On December 18, 2025, Taiwan Tech hosted the “SEED Master Talk” a prestigious expert seminar featuring Professor Sang-Young Lee from Yonsei University, South Korea, a world-renowned authority in the field of battery research. The seminar focused on “Solid-State Batteries,” a critical next-generation battery technology, drawing a large audience of faculty, students, and researchers in a vibrant academic atmosphere.

Professor Sang-Young Lee, who holds joint appointments in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and the Department of Battery Engineering at Yonsei University, delivered a talk titled “Redesigning Polymer Electrolytes: Beyond PEO for Solid-State Batteries”.

During the lecture, Professor Lee provided a profound analysis of the limitations of current polymer electrolytes, such as PEO. He shared his team’s breakthroughs in developing new types of electrolytes with enhanced stability and higher conductivity through innovative structural design. This technology is considered a pivotal milestone in overcoming the safety and energy density challenges associated with solid-state batteries. Attending students expressed that the opportunity to engage directly with a global leader in the field was immensely helpful in broadening their research horizons and academic perspectives.
